Mechanical Engineering in PSVPEC was started in the academic year 2006.It is the branch of engineering that involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools. This department has state-of-the-art facilities in CAD/CAM/CAE and students are given extensive job-oriented training on the latest softwares like Solid Works,Hi-CAD,Metaphase,etc.Most of the students projects are industry oriented.The department has qualified and experienced faculties, technical assistants, Laboratories as per AICTE and ANNA university standards.
1.Students are trained in engineering theory and practice, state of art equipments and software in order to cope up with the latest technological advancement and to face the challenges of Competitive global environment.
2. The Department has excellent laboratory infrastructural facilities and the Students are trained in the following laboratories to enhance their practical skills. Some of the major equipments in the laboratories: Machines Lathes Capstan & Turret Lathe Universal Milling Machine Radial Drilling Machines .
3.It included a variety of guest lectures from notable personalities in the field of Mechanical Engineering and encouraged hardware presentations of self-made projects as opposed to the usual Paper presentations.The Mechatronics laboratory is one of the laboratory facilities that highlight the college from another. .
4.The lab is equipped with state of the art machinery that allows the students to get a complete knowledge on actuators that work on hydraulics and pneumatics
